Twelve days before Alberta's Oct. 19 referendum, I took the camera and mic out onto the streets of Calgary and asked people one simple thing: what do you make of it?

The interviews were filmed in Calgary on Oct. 7. People talked about the referendum itself and whether Alberta should separate, the immigration questions on the ballot, the proposed constitutional changes, and what Quebec's new sovereigntist premier could mean for separatism here in Alberta.
